About Us

Here at Blessed in the Storm we aspire to uplift, empower, and motivate people on their unique journeys- with no exceptions or biases of race, gender, political status, sexuality, past history, or anything else that may keep us divided. We believe in encouraging faith in a higher power, specifically Jesus Christ, and yet accept people right where they are in their spiritual journey process. Lastly, we believe in connection. We are created to be in connection, and therefore not alone. We mean to spread the message that this makes us blessed. Even when in a storm. Author Curt Thompson said it best that vulnerability and connection with our “healing cloud of witnesses” is what overcomes the shackles of shame that keeps us bound in our times of storm. Here at Blessed in the Storm we aim to be this healing cloud for any and all people who are open and ready to take that hard step toward vulnerability and open themselves up to heal in the midst of whatever storm is happening in their lives right now.

How do we do this?

Meet Testimony Tony

 
 

Hello. My name is Testimony Tony. I have been in the Wenatchee Valley for about four and a half years. When I first arrived here I fell IN LOVE with the beauty and splendor of God’s creation that is so evident here. I started Blessed in the Storm initially because I was personally going through a season of “storming” and God was showing me how to see the blessing in it. Blessed in the Storm became my daily reminder. As I was walking through that time, I began to see others going through similar things. I think it's pretty evident how dark, grim, and divided the world is these days. So I want to do what's in my power to BE THE CHANGE! I want to use the little privilege I do have to bring things like hope, joy, comfort, inspiration-things the world hasn't been able to feel much of lately. I especially hope to help and support those who often get left behind or lost. People such as our youth, recovering addicts, or those grieving loss. Creativity and art is part of who I am. Spoken and written word is a life vocation for me! Ultimately, I want to create a rich community of events around creative expression, and "round-table" discussions that invite open and loving conversation on important topics to promote hope, healing, and unity. This would include local youth, adults, and elderly; where we discuss things from the week, with hopes to bridge the generational gap of communication. I believe this would be something powerful and influential, especially for our society today.
