THE MAN IN THE PARK
"That man in the park looks so dark Mommy. I wonder whats wrong with him?"
"Oh sweetie, just keep walking dear, something seems a little off with him."
"Mommy look at him though, he just keeps looking down. I wonder if he lost something?"
"Sweetheart, I think he's doing ok. I'm sure there's a cause or something."
"You're probably right. I hope he's ok, nobody else seems to see him."
"Sweetheart, pay attention, keep up with us; you have family and will never be him."
"What do you mean by that Mommy? Does that mean he has no family?
Maybe that's what he's looking for?
He looks so sad to me."
"Sweetheart, stop staring." "But Mommy, I feel bad.
I can tell that the man in the park is feeling really sad."
"Sweetie, come get in the car, we have more important things to do.
Besides we don’t know what that man would've done to you."
"I don't think he's bad Mommy, I just think he's all alone.
I wonder why he's walking out here? Maybe he lost his home?
Mommy, I wish we could help that man. I wish we could give him a hug.
Maybe he lost his best friend Mommy. What if he lost someone to love?"
Oh little child, little child; you fill my heart with joy.
You carry the compassion of Christ as you worry for this little boy.
The world needs more like you, and a lot less of those like me.
I'm thankful I got to hear your voice, and how you used it to shine light on me.
Sincerely,
The Man in the Park
MY FATHER SAW ME
Now when I read Luke 15; my eyes tear up with joy.
I remember exactly what it is like to be this lost boy.
I went unto to The Father, and I pleaded for his help.
I squandered and plundered away my blessings, thinking of myself.
I too, was still so far off. I too, am far from perfect.
But still You blessed me with Your love, still You say I'm worth it.
I too have sinned against heaven. Father, I too have sinned against you.
Still You show forgiveness, and still call me Your child too.
You hold me close with intimacy. You welcome me with grace.
You don't count my sins against me; You threw me a party to celebrate.
You didn't just give me anything, You gave the best of the best.
You never left me without my needs. Your promise is still a yes.
Although I was lost, by You I was found. You made me royalty.
You never made me feel any less like yours, even though you know all of me.
You knew me in my darkness; in my death I received Your Light.
Father I thank You for your compassion, and your will to give me life.
Father God, I'm thankful for how You saw me.
Crowned
The enemy's words are that I deserve to be treated as the worst person on Earth.
But the Father's word says I've been worthy of love since birth.
The enemy wants me bound by broken promises of life.
Instead, I am crowned with confidence in Christ.
